This Saturday, Dhandapakhar , Sindhupalchowk was abuzz with activity. A free health camp, a joint initiative by the Tamang Doctor’s Society Nepal, the Miss Tamang 2023 team, Shree Gautam Buddha Saving & Credit Limited, and the Shanti Dil Foundation, was in full swing at the Dhandapakhar Health Post in Lisankhupakhar Gaupalika-7.
News of the camp had spread quickly through the community, and residents from surrounding villages had reached to access much-needed medical care. Inside the health post , doctors and nurses from the Tamang Doctor’s Society worked tirelessly, examining patients, diagnosing ailments, and providing free medication. Young volunteers from the Miss Tamang 2023 team assisted with registration, translating, and ensuring the smooth flow of patients. Shree Gautam Buddha Saving and Credit Limited’s representatives were on hand. Shanti Dil Foundation coordinated logistics.
By the end of the day, 257 patients had received treatment. The camp wasn't just about treating illness; it was about empowering the community. It was a testament to the power of collaboration, where different organizations came together with a shared goal; to bring healthcare to those who need it most.
As the sun set over Dhandapakhar, a sense of accomplishment filled the air. The success of the camp was not measured in the number of patients treated, but in the hope it instilled in the community, and the promise of future collaborations to improve healthcare access in the region.
