Kathmandu, Nepal- In a heartwarming display of solidarity, Tamang communities across the globe have rallied together to support COVID-19 relief efforts in their homeland. A total of Rs. 302,121 (Three Lakhs Two Thousand One Hundred Twenty-One Rupees) was raised by various international chapters of the International Tamang Council and organizations affiliated to Tamang Ghedung. These funds have been deposited into the Nepal Tamang Ghedung Disaster Management Fund and promptly handed over to the Tamang Doctor’s Society Nepal.
We sincerely acknowledge and appreciate the generous contributions from various organizations and individuals in support of our cause. Nepal Tamang Samaj Japan (NTSJ) contributed Rs. 105,200, Nepal Tamang Ghedung South Korea provided Rs. 81,921, Nepal Tamang Ghedung Qatar donated Rs. 30,000, Nepal Tamang Ghedung Cyprus extended Rs. 25,000, Nepal Tamang Ghedung Bahrain offered Rs. 20,000, and Nepal Tamang Ghedung Malaysia contributed Rs. 15,000. Additionally, Tamang Samaj UAE donated Rs. 10,000, while Mr. Mahesh Moktan from UAE and Mr. Saroj Tamang individually contributed Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 5,000, respectively. Their invaluable support and generosity are deeply appreciated, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude for their commitment to our community and initiatives.
The funds will be utilised by the Tamang Doctor’s Society Nepal to support their ongoing effort in combating the pandemic, including providing medical care, distributing essential supplies, and raising awareness about COVID-19 prevention. This collaborative effort highlights a strong bond between Tamang people and their homeland, and their commitment to supporting Nepal during challenging times.
