The Tamang Doctor Society Nepal (TDS Nepal) is a collective of medical doctors of the Tamang community, which was established at Falgun 21, 2077 (February 2021) in GorkenSwara -06, Buddhist, Kathmandu. It is a voluntary, non-profit organization dedicated to providing healthcare to rural and semi-rural communities in Nepal through regular health camps. Additionally, TDS provides financial assistance to patients, ensuring better access to Nepal Health Services. As a community-managed organization committed to social welfare, we provide essential health and social services, educational assistance and financial assistance to children deprived of low socio-economic backgrounds. During the second wave of Covid-19 epidemic, TDS Nepal started a teleconstation service to help patients worldwide, through social networks. At that time, in view of the tension on Nepal's healthcare system, our efforts were focused on preventing transmission, detection of initial matter and raising awareness in remote areas. To date, we have successfully organized more than 35 health programs in different districts, benefiting more than 5,000 persons directly. Our initiatives include Covid-19 antigen testing, counseling and drug delivery. Additionally, we have provided masks, PPE kits, pulse oximeter and sanitizer to weaker communities to help curb the spread of the virus. TDS Nepal is committed to its mission of improving healthcare access and upliftment of marginalized communities through dedicated medical and social services.
